I'm A Child of God: I Know It! I Live It! I Love It!

PromiseLand, our children’s area, is a safe place for kids to learn about God and how to live their lives for Him! Children’s Church meets every Sunday morning for nursery through 6th grade.

1st-6th graders, Nursery, toddler, and preschool children (up to 5 years) may be dropped off at the check-in counter before service begins at 10:00am. Classes continue until service ends, usually between 11:00 and 11:05, and each class is taught by a wonderful volunteer teacher and adult or teen helpers.

We use our ministry resources to help our kids understand that God loves them, how they can live their lives for His glory, and rejoice in the love He gives us!

Safety

We take the safety of our kids seriously. All volunteers are background checked, without exception, every two years (most recently in 2021). The check-in desk and central lobby are never left unsupervised. Access to classrooms is restricted to those who have applied and been approved to volunteer in our Children's Ministry.

Volunteer applications are only accepted from those who have been attending SFFMC for at least six months. Children must be claimed by parents or by the guardian who dropped them off; they cannot be released to siblings or family friends unless previously arranged.

Volunteers are each provided with a handbook of Children's Ministry policies, which cover a variety of subjects from volunteer qualifications to emergency procedures. Procedures such as Classroom Lockdowns and Fire Evacuations are practiced yearly. We also provide volunteer trainings on subjects such as Reducing the Risk of child sexual assault, Red Cross First Aid, and Successfully Including Children with special needs.
